Born in Andhra Pradesh, he is the recipient of National Award of the Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi and the gold medal of Andhra Pradesh State Lalit Kala Academy.He was Conferred the Hony. Doctorate of Letters, Sree Venkateswara University, for his services to art and culture. He joined the Weavers Service Centre, Government of India, and retired as the Deputy Director. He is also the recipient of Gold Medal of the Hyderabad Art Society.
